Information you give us

The personal information you give us is what you type into our inquiry forms. Depending on which form you use, that can include:

• Your first and last name
• Your email address and phone number
• The number of people in your party
• Your budget range, preferred destination and preferred travel dates
• The yacht or charter type you are asking about
• Anything you choose to tell us in the free-text message field
• Whether you ticked the box asking us to send you charter ideas and updates

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and are not used to build a profile of you.

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site, for example which destinations and yachts are viewed most and how many inquiries are sent. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. We do not send your name, email address or phone number to Google Analytics. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics runs only after you accept it in our cookie notice, and you can change that choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Anyone can also opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Some pages embed a video from YouTube, which may set its own cookies when the video loads.

We do not use advertising pixels or remarketing tags. Your browser's local storage may hold small preferences such as a remembered search filter or your cookie choice; that data stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

How we use your information

We use what you send us to answer your inquiry, to check yacht and crew availability for the dates you want, to prepare quotes and proposals, and to arrange and support a charter if you decide to book. If you become a client, we also use it to handle booking paperwork, payments made directly to the yacht's central agent or owner, and travel logistics.

If you tick the box asking us to send you charter ideas and updates, we also add your name, email address and phone number to our mailing list. The box is never ticked for you, and every email we send includes a link to unsubscribe. If you don't tick it, we only contact you about your inquiry.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who we share it with

Arranging a charter necessarily involves other parties. We share only what is needed, only with:

• Yacht owners, central agents and crew, so they can confirm availability, quote, and prepare for your charter
• Our email provider (Resend), which delivers the inquiry from the website to our inbox
• Our database provider (Supabase), which stores a secure backup copy of each inquiry so none are lost if an email goes astray
• Our email marketing provider (Mailchimp), only if you ticked the box to receive charter ideas and updates
• Google, which provides Google Analytics as described above
• Our website host (Vercel), which serves the site and keeps the server logs described above
• Professional advisors, or authorities where we are legally required to do so

How long we keep it

Inquiries, including the backup copy in our database, are kept while we are in conversation with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, since charter planning often restarts a season or two later. Booking records are kept as long as needed for tax, insurance and contractual reasons. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it. If you joined our mailing list, you stay on it until you unsubscribe.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to object to certain processing and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on it, and we will respond within the time your local law requires.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection and inquiry data is transmitted to us encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect what you send us.

Children

This website is intended for adults planning a charter. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our pages link to and embed material from other services, including yacht listings, maps and our blog. Those services have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date shown at the top. Material changes will be made clear rather than slipped in quietly.
